You can choose virtually any color combination you can think of for your very own custom HoopBunny Hula Hoop! The photo below displays all of the colors available in three different types of tape: vinyl, duct, and gaffer (grip) tape.
Recently I received an inquiry at the HoopBunny Hoops shop about an order for 12 Custom Collapsible Hula Hoops. Yes, TWELVE hoops at once! And to make it even more flattering, she didn’t even choose any specific color schemes for them, she just likes the style of my hoops she has already seen. I’m pretty excited to get started on them!
The only problem I am having now (and stressing about) is how the heck am I going to ship them? I have only ever shipped one hoop at a time and the packaging I use now is pretty simple, I don’t even use a box. I collapse the hoop, cover it in bubble wrap, then in packing paper, and then tape the whole thing up. It’s not the most beautiful packaging you’ve ever seen, but it works and is fairly cheap.
If I was to ship all the hoops together, I would need a pretty large box. The biggest one I found at Home Depot probably won’t be tall enough to even fit all 12 in so I would most likely need at least 2. I used the price calculator at USPS and it estimated that a box of this size (22 x 22 x 21.5) would cost $90… yikes! So now I’m trying to figure out if I can ship from somewhere else like FedEx or UPS at a cheaper price and if it would cost more/less to break the order up into multiple packages. I wonder if I could use my current packaging method and group 2 or 3 together. That would make 6 separate packages at the most and would be more like $60 I believe.
The reason I’m stressing a bit is because I need to figure this out (and make the hoops) ASAP. Some are being used for an event the first week in November so that doesn’t give me a ton of time. I’d like to provide the lowest possible shipping price that I can for her.
I just needed to take a break from researching and get my thoughts out. Anyone have any experience shipping a lot of hoops or just a large package? Any help would be much appreciated 🙂
I’ll have to take my hoop out for my next little break and spin away some stress!
Happy Hooping xo

At last years Mountain Jam I received a pink/purple FUZZY hoop as a gift from a friend. I absolutely love it, but it was very VERY large and heavy. It was so tall it almost reached my shoulder! I’m about 5’4 so you get an idea for reference. I’m not sure the psi, but I would guess 160 & the tubing is 1 in. thick, way bigger than any hoop I am used to using. All of my other hoops are 3/4 in. 100 psi.
I wanted to bring it with me to this year’s Mountain Jam so I decided to modify my fuzzy hoop a bit and cut it down. It is now about 40 in. diameter I think.
After my modifications, I was left with this giant furry stick. Soo I decided to give to my dog, Rocky. I think he enjoyed it, look how cute he is!
Hey all, I hope everyone had a hoopy Easter! hehe Sorry, I couldn’t help myself. I had a great holiday with my bf’s family and even did some hooping together! I have also been selling lots of HoopBunny hoops in the past week. The first one was a custom made zebra print hoop, my 3rd zebra print combo so far. Take a look!
I haven’t made HoopBunny business cards yet because I would like to have a logo made first. So instead, I attached a little makeshift card to the hoop with my name and the URLs to the various HoopBunny pages like this one, the HoopBunny Hoops shop, and the new Facebook fan page (which you should go “Like” btw!). I accidentally attached my “first draft” of the tag first and forgot to take a picture of the one I actually used (oops!), but you’ll get the general idea!
I like this one because it’s so bright! The orange tape is actually black light reactive so it will glow under the black light. This hoop is also made with 3/4 in. 100 psi tubing, fluorescent orange gaffer tape, and teal duct tape.
The zebra print hoop will be the next listing in the HoopBunny Hoops shop. I also will be adding a listing for completely customized hoops soon so keep checking back!
Happy Hooping! xo
